Home → Tips → Recycling Tip – Only Takes 15 Minutes
- Take one day of the week and call it “Toss Day”. Spend just 15 minutes and try to collect 15 non-working electronic items (cables, batteries, cell phones…). Then go on the internet and go to www.earth911.com. They will give you a recycle location where you can drop off these items. A safer and greener alternative to just throwing it in the trash.
- This process can be done once a month. If you decide to this this once a month, then go around the house and search for 30 items to toss, donate, or give away. Make it fun with the family and give everyone a bag to select what they feel is no longer in use. Then time it, see how long it will take each one to find 30 items. Then as a family, decide what you want to do with these items. Help the children see that with their surplus maybe they can give to a needy shelter. Make it a fun process and a tradition. End it with a nice treat that all will enjoy.
